Description
I got this error message when running the command apt-get update:
Err https://packagecloud.io wheezy/main amd64 Packages The requested URL returned error: 407
Context
I have added a new source list to update my Grafana:
deb https://packagecloud.io/grafana/stable/debian/ wheezy main
I’m using the config file /etc/apt/apt.conf to install/update packages through a proxy. This file looks like this:
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://username:password@10.11.12.13:8080/"; Acquire::https::Proxy "http://username:password@10.11.12.13:8080/";
My current version of apt is the following:
# apt-get -V apt 0.9.7.9 for amd64 compiled on Oct 17 2014 09:15:56
My current linux distribution is the following
# uname -a Linux chgva-srv-its02 3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.2.73-2+deb7u3 x86_64 GNU/Linux # lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Debian Description: Debian GNU/Linux 7.11 (wheezy) Release: 7.11 Codename: wheezy
Solution/workaround
I have found a workaround to make it work. This workaround is described here
My /etc/apt/apt.conf file looks like this now:
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://username:password@10.11.12.13:8080/"; Acquire::https::Proxy "http://username:password@username:password@10.11.12.13:8080/";
This bug was fixed in the package apt – 0.9.9.1~ubuntu1

* apt-pkg/contrib/gpgv.cc:
– ExecGPGV is a method which should never return, so mark it as such
and fix the inconsistency of returning in error cases
– don’t close stdout/stderr if it is also the statusfd

* lp:~mvo/apt/fix-tagfile-hash:
– fix false positives in pkgTagSection.Exists(), thanks to
Niels Thykier for the testcase (closes: #703240)

* SECURITY UPDATE: InRelease verification bypass
– CVE-2013-1051
[ David Kalnischk ]

for the report. Closes: #696923
* apt-pkg/contrib/progress.cc:
– Make “…” translatable to fix inconsistencies in the output
of e.g. apt-get update. While this adds new translatable strings,
not having translations for them will not break anything.
Thanks to Guillem Jover. Closes: #696225
